Church Finances

Offerings, Tithes & Gift Aid

We are in what for most of us are unchartered waters. Never before in our lifetime have, we seen the world so affected so quickly. Countries are in lock down, tens of thousands of people have been taken ill, and the death count is rising every day. The financial institutes have gone into melt down and so many lively hoods either on hold, or jobs lost.

We have people who are working hard to keep us moving, looking after our health needs and protecting us. All of them are important, but then every single person is important to God.

We are in a situation where not only our physical needs must be met; we also need to protect our Spiritual needs & wellbeing. Though the Church services and meetings have had to stop a lot of work is still going on in the background.

As the building has been effectively closed down, there will be no outside groups using the building, which in turn reduces the church income. With nobody about on Sundays, it will be difficult for people to give their Tithes and offerings, the knock-on effect of all this is that we only have so much money available to continue paying our minister his stipend, paying William the caretaker and pay the bills.

There are a small number of people who pay directly into the Church bank account which helps. Other people pay by cash or cheque on a Sunday morning, if some these people have either an online banking account, or can complete a Standing order form and send it to me, this will be very helpful in seeing us through the next few months or more. There will be some of us who can’t or don’t want to do this, but still want to give their offering, in this case we can arrange for someone who will be in contact with you to either collect it or arrange for someone to collect it.

Finally, there are people within the fellowship who pay tax but have not completed a Gift Aid form, please note the Government will pay us back £0.25 pence for every £1.00 you give to the church. This is a way of increasing your giving without paying any more. I have attached this form as well as the standing order.

I am happy for anybody to contact me about the Standing order, Gift Aid or getting their offering to me.

We must remember that God is with us at all times, even in these strange times.

“Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed. I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with My victorious right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10

Yours in Christ
